• Description

  Karrig is a nine foot wall of muscle and metal. His surprisingly well kept jet black hair falls well past his shoulders and gets lost against his obsidian full plate armor. The armor’s sinister look is broken by an ornate golden sun set in the chest plate with its rays slowly fading into the black armor, a full blade and large shield matching the dark motif of Karrig’s armor complete his brutal ensemble. Should one actually look Karrig in the face they would see two gleaming yellow eyes, a clean shaven face, and slightly pointed teeth. They would also find his appearance surprisingly, aesthetically pleasing especially for his breed. Around his waist Karrig has a large tome with a Sun chained. When in combat, a glow seems to emanate from the behemoth bolstering his allies and unnerving enemies.

• Biography

  Karrig, being a product of rape, was abandoned shortly after birth. Before nature could erase this half breed an old woman, who fostered many orphans, came across him and took him in. The woman never lied to Karrig about what he was, she taught him to embrace his strengths, to defy the preconceived notions of his heritage. His foster mother used her connections with her former children to secure an education for her bastard child, in return Karrig was a work horse. By the age of 10, five members of the Church of the Sun approached the woman and claimed they sensed greatness in little Karrig and they, with her permission, would take over his education and bring out his greatness.
  
  Karrig spent five years being groomed into a paladin of the sun, despite many objections behind closed doors. The objectors were quickly silenced by the five who brought Karrig into the church, saying he would “Do the light’s work beyond their imagination.” By age 15 Karrig was declared a Paladin of the Sun, despite his race and young age. The young Half Ogre showed no sign of complacency, the drive to improve was thoroughly ingrained by his foster mother.
  
  On his 18th birthday, Karrig was approached by the five men who originally brought him to the church. By this time Karrig had been out in the world long enough to become disillusioned of the traditional role of the paladin being a “good example” to change the world. It was then that they revealed why they sought him out those years ago, they intended for him to become a Gray Guard, a secretive sect of paladins who have realized it will take more than kind words and being a shining beacon to make the world better. He was to be a real force for good; he was to bring the Light to the Shadows.
